Workspaces

A workspace is one company on Udala. You can create multiple workspaces under one account and switch between them instantly.

What is a workspace?

Each workspace is a fully independent company instance on Udala. It has its own:

• PostgreSQL schema (your data is never mixed with another company's)
• Chart of accounts
• Employee records
• Module configuration
• User roles and permissions
• Billing subscription (or it can be under your parent account's plan)

Creating a workspace

From the workspace switcher (top-left of the navigation), click + Add Workspace. You'll be prompted for:

• Company name - The display name shown in the UI
• Workspace slug - Your subdomain, e.g. my-company → my-company.udala.africa. This is permanent and cannot be changed.
• Industry - Used to pre-load sensible chart-of-accounts defaults
• Country - Sets default currency, tax and compliance rules

Switching between workspaces

Click the workspace name in the top-left navigation. A dropdown shows all workspaces under your account. Click any workspace to switch instantly - no re-login required.

Workspace limits by plan

• Starter: 1 workspace
• Growth: Up to 3 workspaces
• Enterprise: Unlimited workspaces

Deleting a workspace

Go to Settings → Workspace → Danger Zone → Delete Workspace. This permanently deletes all data in that workspace's schema. This action cannot be undone. We retain the data for 30 days before permanent deletion in case you change your mind - contact support@udala.africa within that window to recover it.
